SARAJEVO, April 7 (FENA) - Thanks to the measures of the FBiH Civil Protection Service Crisis Staff and the Cantonal Civil Protection Crisis Staff, as well as the citizens of Bosnia-Podrinje Canton (BPC) - Goražde who have complied with those measures, this canton has not registered Covid-19 coronavirus infection for 11 days, BPC Prime Minister Aida Obuća said in a statement for FENA.
She also stated that there is another positive news in that canton, where out of six infected, one-person control test showed that it was negative for coronavirus, which means that if another control test turned out to be negative, then this canton would register a decrease in the growth rate of newly infected cases.
She emphasized that since March 19, 2020, when the first case of a coronavirus positive in the BPC area was confirmed, all measures under the jurisdiction of the Canton were implemented and much needed medical equipment was purchased.
“We allocated KM 300,000 from the budget of BPC Goražde, we received KM 400,000 from UNDP, and with the support of the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and BH Telecom an additional KM 200,000 was secured. Therefore, we helped Cantonal Hospital in Goražde with 600,000 KM to procure the necessary equipment primarily ventialtors, mobile RTGs and specialized equipment strictly for medical staff,” explained Obuća.
She stressed that businesses operating in the Pobjeda industrial zone, which emplys more than 1.200 workers, began working after an order by the Cantonal Civil Protection Crisis Staff to suspend production for 15 days has expired.
