SARAJEVO, April 8 (FENA) - Bosnia and Herzegovina Defense Minister Sifet Podžić confirmed for FENA that a helicopter of the BiH Armed Forces has been engaged in firefighting in the Tuzla area this morning.

He added that last night, at the request of the Mayor of Tuzla, through the Operational Center of the BiH Ministry of Security, they received a request to engage a helicopter for fire extinguishing purposes.

Minister Podžić stressed that he requested a session of the BiH Presidency and that the Presidency very quickly approved the engagement of a helicopter.

He also said that the BiH Deputy Minister of Defense Mijo Krešić is on the ground and is monitoring the situation.

The fires around Tuzla do not fade, and the latest focal point is Husino near Tuzla, where firefighters and local inhabitants have been trying to localize the fire at a large forest complex.
