SARAJEVO, April 15 (FENA) - BiH Presidency Chairman Šefik Džaferović and BiH Presidency member Željko Komšić visited the Kovači Memorial Complex, as well as the Stadium Cemetery, St. Mark and St. Joseph Cemetery on the occasion of April 15 - Day of RBiH Army.
Džaferović extended congratulations to the citizens of BiH on the occasion of the marking of the 28th anniversary of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina (RBiH), recalling that it was created during the most difficult period of this country.
“It was an expression of people to preserve the independent Bosnia and Herzegovina and their aspirations for freedom. The Army of RBiH was the only legal military force in BiH in times of aggression and honorably defended the internationally recognized state of Bosnia and Herzegovina and made it possible to sign the Dayton Peace Agreement,” Džaferović said.
He added that today we remember those best among us, those who laid down their lives for freedom that we live in now.
“The best way to pay tribute to all the members of the Army of the RBiH is to advocate today for what they have fought then, which is an independent Bosnia and Herzegovina and a state of equal peoples and citizens,” Džaferović said.
Komšić stressed that he wanted to take the opportunity to remember in these difficult days for BiH and the whole world all those who lost their lives for Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“Also, I would like to congratulate the Day of the RBiH Army to all those who respect this, and there are many of us who respect it and who were in the Army of the RBiH,” said Komšić.
He stressed that we have reason to be proud of choices we made in those crucial years for Bosnia and Herzegovina and that we must not allow this to be forgotten, especially the sacrifices of those who lost their lives for the freedom of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
