MOSTAR, April 21 (FENA) - Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, Denis Zvizdić, is in the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton (HNC) today, where he visited the Cantonal Hospital "Dr. Safet Mujić" in Mostar and presented a donation.
“We have given a small, modest donation to the Cantonal Hospital and four health centers in Konjic, Jablanica, Stolac and the Stari Grad Health Center in Mostar. What is very important and what we have learned from our discussions so far is the need for all executive authorities in the HNC to have a solid and fair approach to all health care institutions in the entire canton, because the pandemic of the coronavirus affects all residents of this canton and BiH,” Zvizdić said.
He added that he had also met with the Management of Hydroelectric Power Plants on the Neretva River earlier today, and that they had discussed economic measures that are important to take to help the recovery of the economy.
They also talked about ways in which funds from the Stabilization and Guarantee Fund of the FBiH Development Bank can be disbursed, which will help economic entities to preserve jobs and restore economic flows.
One of the topics was the issue of fires in the HNC that were evidently caused by human negligence.
“Civil Protection must procure as soon as possible means that will enable rapid and high-quality firefighting, whether airplanes, air-tractors or firefighting aircraft, which will be stationed at the Mostar airport and respond appropriately given that fires are repeated annually,” Zvizdić said.
After his visit to the Cantonal Hospital in Mostar, Zvizdić will also visit the Health Center in Stolac.
