SARAJEVO, April 26 (FENA) - In the last 24 hours, 959 samples have been tested in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and 15 persons were confirmed positive for coronavirus, public relations consultant of the FBiH Ministry of Health, Zlatan Peršić, confirmed today.

He said that a total of 14.485 samples have been tested so far, and Covid-19 has been confirmed in 826 people. When it comes to the gender structure of patients, 445 are women, which is more than 58 percent, while 381 are men, which is just over 46 percent, and 32 deaths have been reported.

Most of them are in Herzegovina-Neretva Canton 238, in Zenica-Doboj 132, in Sarajevo Canton 112, in West Herzegovina 83, in Tuzla Canton 81, while in Una-Sana 79 persons are positive for coronavirus.

Also, in Canton 10, 41 cases have been confirmed, in the Central Bosnia 37, in the Bosnia-Podrinje Canton 20 cases were recorded, while in the Posavina Canton there are three confirmed cases.

When it comes to patients' health status, 45 of them are hospitalized, said Peršić, while five are on a ventilator, but there are 256 patients recovered in the Federation of BiH and 21 patients have been recovered in the last 24 hours.

“This information is important and encouraging because we constantly have cured patients, but all citizens should be aware that mitigation in BiH and other countries should not be understood as the end of the pandemic,” Peršić emphasized.

He noted that we would continue to live in circumstances of constant threat because the virus is still present and transmissions are still being recorded, and the fight against the pandemic would take a long time.

He stressed that the mitigation of the measures is related to the fact that in new circumstances, society and the system must function, and citizens are now aware of the importance of prevention and have learned a lot about the virus, how it is transmitted and how to protect themselves.
