Pehar: A total of 278 patients recovered from Covid-19 so far in FBiH

SARAJEVO, April 27 (FENA) - A member of the FBiH Civil Protection Staff and Director of the FBiH Institute of Public Health, Davor Pehar, said today that 573 samples were tested in the Federation of BiH in the last 24 hours, 14 of which tested positive for Covid-19.

According to him, to date, more than 15 thousand people have been tested in the FBiH, 15,058 persons to be exact, and 840 persons have confirmed to be positive.

"Distribution according to gender shows that we still have more Covid-19 cases with women - 454 samples or 54 percent, while in men it is 46 percent," Pehar said.

Speaking about the situation in the cantons, he stated that the largest number of positive samples was registered in the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton 241, then Zenica-Doboj Canton 142, Sarajevo Canton 113, West Herzegovina Canton 81, Tuzla Canton 81, Una-Sana Canton 79 positive persons, there are 41 in Canton 10, 37 in Central Bosnia, Podrinje Canton 20 and in three in the Posavina Canton. 

Pehar stated that 49 patients who were positive for Covid-19 have been hospitalized, five of whom have been placed on a ventilator. 

"As of today, we have recorded a total of 278 patients recovered in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, while in the last 24 hours, 22 patients have recovered. We have not had any new deaths in the last few days, so that number is still 32 deaths," said Pehar.

He noted that more than two-thirds of deaths have been in the 65 years of age or above group.

He thanked everyone who has worked very hard in the last three months under the crisis plan. 

"That work has brought us to the state in which we now have an acceptable epidemiological situation," Pehar said.
