SARAJEVO, April 28 (FENA) - Regarding the information on the procurement of 100 ventilators for the FBiH health care institutions, which has been paid 10.5 million KM, FBiH Minister of Finance and Commander of the FBiH Civil Protection Crisis Staff, Jelka Milićević, considers it an obligation to clarify to the public that relevant and competent institutions did not participate in the said procurement in this crisis.
“According to the procedures, all needs are first identified by the professionals, i.e. the Institute of Public Health. Thereafter, a decision is made to initiate procurement by the FBiH Civil Protection Crisis Staff and obtain the consent of the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The FBiH Civil Protection Administration conducts the procurement procedure. Eventually, when the equipment arrives, the FBiH Civil Protection Crisis Staff decides to distribute it to the local levels. In the mentioned case of procurement of ventilators, this procedure was not performed,” emphasizes Minister Milićević.
She also recalls that not too long ago she warned the public that changes in the composition and scope of the FBiH Civil Protection Crisis Staff were not legally justified.
"Because of all this, it is really necessary to fully investigate what happened because it is taxpayers' money from the FBiH budget," said Minister Milićević, who is also the Commander of the FBiH Civil Protection Crisis Staff, the FBiH Ministry of Finance announced.
