BANJA LUKA, April 30 (FENA) - The RS Prime Minister Radovan Višković says the rise in the number of new cases of coronavirus in that BiH entity in recent days has been worrying and announced that the Government will today adopt a decree in force immediately on the grounds of which both communal police and inspectors and officers of the Ministry of Interior may sanction irresponsible citizens who violate measures relating to the wearing of protective equipment, non-compliance with quarantine, public group gatherings and such.

If irresponsible individuals continue to violate the measures, the authorities are likely to be forced to take more repressive measures.

"I would not like for this to happen, but appreciating the epidemiological situation, we may be forced. We have eased some measures in the last few days, and even then we said we would monitor the epidemiological situation. I would not like to get into a situation where we have to return to stricter measures. Individuals' irresponsibility can undo all good that we have achieved so far," Višković warned.

Obviously, people were behaving irresponsibly during the Easter holidays.

"I am afraid that we are paying that price now of what went on during Easter, although we urged citizens to respect the measures," Višković told reporters in Banja Luka.

Given that the May Day holidays and Patron Saint Day of Djurdjevdan are coming, Višković said it was crucial for citizens to respect the measures, with a view to suppressing the spread of coronavirus.
