HNS supports the decision not to take part in the work of ad hoc working group

FENA Press release

MOSTAR, May 4 (FENA) - The Croat People's Assembly (HNS) supports the decision of Croat political representatives not to take part in the work of the ad hoc political working group established under the BiH Presidency.

"Considering that the current convocation of the Presidency does not meet the criteria of constitutive representation and legitimacy in accordance with the Constitution of BiH from the standpoint of a Croat member; the HNS undoubtedly emphasizes that Croat officials will never express their support for the usurper who was elected for the third time in opposition to the democratically expressed will of the constituent Croat people, abducting the positions belonging to the Croat people and knowingly violating the fundamental determinants of BiH."

The Presidency in a current convocation is not and cannot be a leader of the positive processes, especially those concerning European integration," stated the HNS after the online meeting of the HNS President and the House of Peoples Speaker Dragan Čović with the political parties' presidents in the HNS.

The main part of the meeting was devoted to discussing BiH's European path in the wake of the EU-Western Balkans Heads of State Summit to be held this week via video conference.

They also discussed the implementation of the 14 key priorities from the European Commission's Opinion on BiH's application for EU membership on moving forward with European integration and achieving the most prominent goal of BiH's foreign policy.

The HNS extended full support to its officials in the Council of Ministers of BiH in leading the process of European integration of BiH, during the work of the session of the Collegium for European Integration of the Council of Ministers.

Also, the HNS appealed for more active participation of the competent institutions, that is, the Council of Ministers of BiH and the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, in the urgent approach to the realization of 14 key priorities from the European Commission's Opinion, as representative bodies that, in their words, reflect the legitimate representation and interests of all constituent peoples and leading political parties.

The statement further added that the HNS reaffirms a strong and unquestionable commitment to the integration of Bosnia and Herzegovina into the European Union and NATO, as a key objective of BiH's foreign policy and a catalyst for stability, prosperity and development.

"We express strong support to all legitimate and legal representatives of the Croat people in the authorities, and point to the need to implement the decisions of the Constitutional Court of BiH and the European Court of Human Rights concerning the implementation of the overarching constitutional principle of constitutionality and legitimate democratic representation," the HNS points out.

Regarding the changes in the membership in the Central Election Commission (CEC BiH), the HNS states that these changes have violated the legality and legitimacy of the CEC and call on the competent institutions to investigate violations of the laws and all procedures for election and appointment of the CEC members.

The presidents of the political parties gathered in the HNS are of the opinion that in such circumstances it is extremely questionable to call and hold local elections and they believe that these issues should be discussed and decided in the BiH Parliamentary Assembly.

The HNS strongly condemns any profiteering, as well as the constant efforts of non-transparent action, disregard of legal procedures in the procurement of medical equipment and ventilators, as well as other legally questionable decisions of the FBiH Civil Protection Crisis Staff.

"The Croat People's Assembly warns of a non-transparent change in the composition of the FBiH Civil Protection Crisis Staff, which, as it turned out, without expert consultation, has been making decisions that could be detrimental to the health sector and the health of the people of BiH, and calls on the competent institutions, especially the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, to identify all irregularities in the procurement of ventilators and the actual state of affairs, as well as to prosecute all those who participated in, what seems to be an obvious criminal offense, and which has all the characteristics of organized crime," the HNS points out.
