FOČA, May 7 (FENA) - Director of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) for BiH Nancy J. Eslick handed over packages of food and hygiene products and disinfectants to families in need in Foča RS and Foča FBiH.
Within the PRO-Future project, which is implemented by Catholic Relief Services (CRS) with the financial support of USAID, more than 1.200 aid packages have been provided for families in need in more than 50 local communities in BiH, and the project value is around 80.000 KM.
“So far, we have sent about 500 million USD to 100 countries in the world that are fighting against the pandemic, including BiH. USAID provides more than financial resources, we provide technical assistance, training, building health systems and life-saving medicines,” said the USAID Director for BiH.
Mayors of Foča FBiH and Foča RS, Zijad Kunovac and Radisav Mašić emphasized that assistance was expected from USAID because, as they said, it is a reliable partner who has been making efforts for the development of BiH for many years through concrete projects.
“In this way, the commitment of the American Government in terms of contribution to the global fight against the pandemic was confirmed. For years, USAID, for example, has been assisting our 'Glimmer of Hope' Association, which brings together children with disabilities from the region, in a very concrete way,” said Mayor of Foča in RS Radisav Mašić.
The mayor of the municipality of Foča in FBiH, Zijad Kunovac, said that disinfectants for increasing the level of hygiene were more important than food at this time, so they opted for this type of help in this local community.
