SARAJEVO, May 8 (FENA) - Minister of Security of BiH, Fahrudin Radončić today attended a handover of equipment donated to Bosnia and Herzegovina by the Republic of Austria, consisting of gloves, blankets, disposable bedding and disinfectants worth a total of 30,000 euros.

"This is not the first time that Austria has provided valuable assistance to BiH. During the war and after the war, it is a country that had made vast financial allocations to our country, and on this occasion, when we, as the Ministry of Security, asked for foreign aid, we got a response from true friends who come through in the most difficult moments. Therefore, I take this opportunity to once again thank the Government of Austria, the people of Austria and her Excellency, Ambassador of Austria for this valuable donation, which will be sent where it is needed through the Council of Ministers" said Radončić.

Austrian Ambassador to BiH Ulrike Hartmann emphasized that the delivered equipment is an expression of solidarity with the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"We coordinate assistance to BiH within the European Union. In particular, now we have secured disinfectants, hygiene packages, gloves, etc.," said Hartmann.

The handover of the equipment, which took place in the storage of the FBiH Civil Protection Administration, was attended by the Deputy Head of the EU Delegation to BiH Khaldoun Sinno, who pointed out that BiH reacted very quickly in terms of submitting requests within the EU Civil Protection Coordination Mechanism and this was a second such delivery.

He referred to the results of the EU-Western Balkans Summit, where a clear message was sent that the European Union continues to provide support to the Western Balkan countries.

"An aid package worth more than 330 million euros has been prepared for BiH, of which 80 million is intended directly for saving human lives and jobs, and those funds are operational. EUR 250 million of macro-financial assistance is also envisaged for BiH," Sinno added.
