SARAJEVO, May 21 (FENA) - Head of the European Union Delegation and the EU Special Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ambassador Johann Sattler, will hand over equipment intended for medical institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina funded by the European Union tomorrow in Sarajevo.
The equipment is procured in accordance with EU public procurement standards and includes high quality ventilators, X-ray machines and other protective medical equipment. The ventilators are manufactured in the EU (Sweden), and they are modern ventilators intended for intensive care and anesthesia.
The procurement of equipment was financed by the European Union within the program of assistance to BiH in the fight against coronavirus (COVID-19) implemented by UNDP BiH.
The handover of the equipment will take place in the premises of BKM-Šped in Sarajevo, starting at 10.00 AM. The ceremony will be attended by BiH Security Minister Fahrudin Radončić and UNDP Resident Representative in BiH Steliana Nedera, announced the EU Delegation to BiH.
The European Union has so far allocated a total of seven million euros to Bosnia and Herzegovina in response to COVID-19 for emergency medical needs, which includes the purchase of ventilators, ECG devices, X-ray and ultrasound devices, and significant amounts of protective medical equipment. The delivery of protective medical equipment to medical institutions throughout BiH began in late March and will continue.
