Sweden/USAID FARMA II helps agricultural producers market their businesses

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, May 27 (FENA) - On the following two Thursdays, May 28 and June 4, the Sweden/USAID FARMA II project will hold webinars on marketing for agricultural producers and organizations from the whole of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

These are the fourth and fifth webinars in the row providing producers concrete advice on how to conduct their business and effectively use social media platforms during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.

"The current situation with the COVID-19 pandemic has shown just how important good marketing is," said Amra Brkić of Milo Selo, producer of goat cheese, fruit, and vegetable from Lukavac in Northwestern Bosnia and Herzegovina, who participated in the previously organized webinar on online promotion.

She stressed that the online way of doing business, mainly sales and promotion, has become a must and will remain so also after the pandemic.

"The rules of the market are changing. Those who so far did not use the online promotion and web sales, have to start doing so very quickly. That is the only way to keep up with the market race caused by the new situation. The support that Sweden/USAID FARMA II project is providing to agricultural producers in this regard is very important and highly appreciated," stated Sweden/USAID FARMA II project.

The project will continue helping the agricultural sector to improve their marketing practices and generate higher sales.

Sweden/USAID FARMA II project is helping develop BiH’s agriculture in the five sectors: dairy; fruits and vegetables; honey; medicinal and aromatic plants; and poultry.

It is helping improve the domestic regulatory framework to align it with the EU acquis and is transferring necessary know-how to the producers to enable them to increase their production, improve the quality of their products, and meet the standards necessary for exports to the EU and other international markets.
