SARAJEVO, June 1 (FENA) - Instead of hypocritically moralizing, accusing the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) of alleged pressure on the judiciary and defending the compromised chief prosecutor Gordana Tadić, the HJPC President Milan Tegeltija should resign or be fired, the SDA said in a statement.
They add that it is understandable that Tegeltija is defending prosecutor Tadić, "because she saved him from the trial for his involvement in the bribery affair, months ago, in which the entire BiH public could see a video that presented the manner of work of the HJPC president".
They also state that it is devastating that Tegeltija has never been prosecuted for that.
"That is one of the reasons why a large part of the public has lost confidence in the part of the judiciary run by Tegeltija and Tadić. Tegeltija is the last person who can speak about an independent judiciary because he was the one who put judicial institutions in the service of the SNSD policies, which he openly attested by attending Dodik's gathering in East Sarajevo organized with the aim of derogating the competences of the Constitutional Court," underlined the SDA.
The only "pressure" that the SDA puts on the judiciary, as they say, is the demand that the law be strictly applied, that all criminal acts be prosecuted without exception and that the cases be prosecuted regardless of the part of BiH in which they happen.
"The Prosecutor's Office of BiH and SIPA cannot be competent only in the territory where Bosniaks are the majority people. Our 'pressure' is reflected in the fact that we ask the judiciary not to grant privileged status to anyone, as well as not to be plagued by scandals and fabricated political indictments that undermine the faith of citizens in the judicial system," stated the SDA in a press release.
