SARAJEVO, June 2 (FENA) - Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina Fahrudin Radončić plans to resign at today's session of the BiH Council of Ministers, confirmed to FENA a source in the Council of Ministers.
The same source explained that everything will be known after today's session of the Council of Ministers, which starts at 15.00 hrs.
Radončić told the web portal Klix.ba that there were three reasons why he decided to make such a decision and that he was waiting for the end of the pandemic and the appointment of his deputy.
The first reason is the different understanding of the migrant crisis, followed by his personal assessment that the relations between SDA, SNSD and HDZ are such that they will not create a good environment for the functioning of the BiH Council of Ministers for a long time, and the third reason is the ongoing affair on the procurement of ventilators during the coronavirus pandemic.
“I supported the prosecutors, the police and the independent judiciary to prosecute the case and the blatant robbery of public money, and the SDA interpreted this as an attack against Bosniaks and their political leaders. Obviously, we experience things related to systemic corruption differently. I do not prejudge who is guilty, I am for an independent judiciary, but we cannot present our political views by attacking the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, declaring it to be engaged in anti-Bosniak activities, and we know that all prosecutors in this case are Bosniaks,” Radončić told Klix.
Radončić points out that there are no personal animosities between him and the SDA President Bakir Izetbegović, but that these are strategic differences.
