TJENTIŠTE, June 9 (FENA) - A delegation of the President of the Republic of Croatia Zoran Milanović, led by Chief of Staff of the Office of the President and Advisor to the President for Foreign and European Policy Orsat Miljenić, visited Tjentište today to lay flowers at the Memorial-Ossuary in the Valley of the Heroes at Tjentište and memorial plaque at Donje Bare.

The visit to the Sutjeska National Park was organized on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of the Battle of Sutjeska and the 75th anniversary of the victory over fascism in the Second World War.

It was emphasized that the aim of the visit was to remind the public in Croatia that Croats had made a significant contribution to the fight against fascism in the Second World War. More than three thousand Croatian anti-fascists, mostly from Dalmatia, were killed in the Battle of Sutjeska.

“Our arrival here tells a lot about our position on revisionism regarding the events that happened here, and from the point of view of the Republic of Croatia, a lot of our citizens died, people who fought for freedom and it is certainly appropriate to come and pay tribute to them. We also laid flowers at the site of Donje Bare, where the Second Dalmatian brigade suffered and a symbol of suffering of Dalmatians here,” said Chief of Staff of the Office of the President and Advisor to the President for Foreign and European Policy Orsat Miljenić.

The delegation visited the Sutjeska Battle Museum together with representatives of the Association of Anti-fascists and Fighters of the National Liberation War (SABNOR) of BiH where they laid flowers at the Memorial-Ossuary in the Valley of the Heroes at Tjentište.
