SARAJEVO, June 12 (FENA) - A representative of the "Club 100-Plus" Senada Softić-Telalović today handed over a petition with 8,372 signatures to the Assistant High Representative Sandra Gluvačević asking the High Representative of the International Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina Valentin Inzko to urgently impose a law banning genocide denial in Bosnia and Herzegovina, until July 11 at the latest.

“While parliaments in other countries around the world have adopted the Resolution on the genocide in Srebrenica and acknowledge this tragedy, we in BiH have not done so yet. In addition, there is a total denial of genocide in BiH and continued insults of the victims and their families,” Softić-Telalović told reporters.

She pointed out that the petition is a symbolic one, because it consists of 8,372 signatures from 123 countries of the world, where each name represents one innocent victim killed in Srebrenica.

“This is our outcry to ask the BiH PA to adopt the Resolution, to stop the denial of genocide in BiH, because that is the only way forward and without it, there will be no coexistence and no future,” underlined Softić-Telalović.

She emphasized that they gave the High Representative a deadline until July 11, although she believes that apart from marking the anniversary of the Srebrenica genocide, nothing significant will happen on that day.

“This is not important for the survivors of Srebrenica, but for all future generations in Bosnia and Herzegovina,” concluded Softić-Telalović.
