SARAJEVO, June 16 (FENA) - Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Šefik Džaferović received Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Albania Gent Cakaj.
The two officials stated on this occasion that the bilateral relations between BiH and Albania are extremely good in the political, economic and cultural sense, and that there are no open issues between the two countries.
They emphasized that there is significant room for improving cooperation in the field of economy and tourism.
In that sense, progress has already been made, because the Presidency of BiH, at the last session, gave its consent for the signing of the agreement on economic cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Albania.
The need for improving transport connections was also emphasized, and the road Sarajevo - Podgorica - Tirana was singled out as a priority.
Džaferović and Cakaj stressed the need to open embassies in Sarajevo and Tirana, which would raise overall relations to a higher level.
It was assessed that the cooperation between the two countries in international organizations and associations is extremely good, as well as the cooperation in the processes of accession to Euro-Atlantic integration.
Chairman Džaferović emphasized that in the coming period he expects the intensification of political, economic and cultural relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Albania, in the mutual interest of the two countries, stated the Presidency of BiH.
