Salkić: Nobody can erase Bosniaks from RS

BANJA LUKA, June 21 (FENA) - Nobody can erase Bosniaks from the BiH entity of RS and the representatives of the Serb people should realize that, RS Vice-President Ramiz Salkić pointed out yesterday.

He called for working together to amend the entity constitution.

“RS is not only Serb entity, nor is it only their Constitution, nor can only they adopt it, regardless of the fact that Bosniaks have a small constitutional capacity and opportunities to protect their interests,” Salkić warned in an interview with FENA.

Changes to the Constitution of the RS entities should happen, as he stated, in a way that essentially, and not only formally, implements the decision of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the constituency of the people on the entire territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Council of Peoples and the House of Peoples in the entities should have identical competencies, just like the president and vice presidents of the entities. Banja Luka, as the future administrative center of the entitiy, must have prescribed quotas for the representation of the constituent peoples in the City Assembly, as is the case, for example, in Sarajevo.

“The issues of the names of official languages used in this entity should be defined in such a way that the names of the languages are included in the Constitution, and not as it is regulated today, so there is abuse and systemic discrimination against Bosniaks and Croats in this BiH entity,” stated Salkić.

He stated that Bosnia and Herzegovina, as it always did before, will outlive all those "who hate it".

He warns that young men, who boast a mural dedicated to convicted war criminal Ratko Mladić for the crime of genocide against Bosniaks, a joint criminal enterprise and other serious war crimes committed in Bosnia and Herzegovina, must be aware that the verdict will not disappear with the fact that they spent a few liters of paint and a few days of their free time.

“The verdict of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia in The Hague says that he is a war criminal. It remains to remind them, their children, their grandchildren and all future generations of what a criminal he is. This court verdict and historical fact will not be erased by time, but the mural and their misdeeds will be erased by frost, snow, sun, rain and all other phenomena in nature. What is needed is that the future time changes the current perception that convicted war criminals are their heroes” warned RS Vice-President Ramiz Salkić in an interview with FENA.
