SARAJEVO, July 1 (FENA) - Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH Staša Košarac said in Sarajevo today that the BiH Foreign Minister Bisera Turković's move regarding the issue of Trgovska Gora reminds him of the classic obstruction of a very important job that is in the interest of all citizens of the country whether they live in the entity of Republika Srpska or the Federation of BiH.

“It seems to me that this is a classic slap in the face to all those people who live in the Una River Basin, whether they are Serbs, Bosniaks or Croats,” Košarac told reporters after a video conference he organized with members of the Coordination Body for Radioactive Waste and Nuclear Disposal site at Trgovska gora.

Košarac added that the Council of Ministers of BiH made a decision to form a coordinating body, which was published in the "Official Gazette", and that Minister Turković also participated in the process of deciding on the coordinating team for the issue of Trgovska Gora.

“The decision in Article 4 clearly states that with the entry into force of that decision, the decision on the formation of the working group from 2016 ceases to be valid. Therefore, we are not doing anything in parallel. I am worried about such a move and an explanation that there is already a working group,” added Košarac.

He stated that he had talks with Minister Turković in February this year and that he received support for joint work on that issue.

“I asked her to include the diplomatic-consular network and there was full support, and informed her that we want to create a coordinating team, later an expert team and a legal one. The official position of all the BiH institutions is of such that there are no disagreements regarding the issue of Trgovska Gora,” Košarac pointed out.

He stressed that foreign policy is defined by the Presidency of BiH, which has issued a conclusion obliging the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH and all other institutions to work diligently on this issue.

“At the meeting of the coordinating body held today, I received a proposal from the entity ministers to ask for written information from Minister Turković regarding what she has done in light of the conclusion of the Presidency of BiH,” said Košarac.

He added that it is true that the expert team has 22 members, and that he believes that additional capacities will be needed because it will be a process that will last. He pointed out that all those who already work in the institutions, and are members of the team, will not receive additional benefits, and for all others the amount will be determined by the Council of Ministers of BiH.

“We want to have ready credible experts who will do the work, which will not be easy and we expect a lot of problems,” said Košarac.

He added that today they made a decision on the structure of the legal team when it comes to the Trgovska gora issue.

“We must not waste time and be late for the term-defined procedures,” stated Košarac, emphasizing the importance of preventing danger to the health of 250,000 people living in the Una River Basin.
