CEC BiH - Registration of voters that reside abroad for upcoming local elections

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, July 3 (FENA) - In accordance with the Instruction on deadlines and sequence of election activities for the 2020 Local Elections to be held on Sunday, November 15, 2020, the deadline for registration of voters voting outside Bosnia and Herzegovina expires on September 1, 2020, at midnight.

Those BiH citizens who reside abroad, and who were registered to vote from abroad in the last elections held in 2018, if they want to be registered again to vote from abroad, must fill in the PRP2 form and submit a copy of a valid identification document to the BiH Central Election Commission.

Other BiH citizens who want to vote from abroad in the upcoming elections should fill in the PRP1 form and submit it to the Central Election Commission of BiH with the accompanying documentation.

Voters can download the application forms PRP1 and PRP2 with instructions on how to register and submit the forms on the website of the Central Election Commission of BiH.

“In the previous elections, the Central Election Commission of BiH delivered personalized PRP2 forms to the addresses of voters who were registered to vote outside BiH in the last elections. Due to the fact that funds were not provided for the implementation of the elections, so it was not possible to procure the postal delivery of forms in a timely manner, voters can also download these forms on our website,” announced the CEC BiH.

In addition to the precise instructions, the guide and forms PRP1 and PRP2, a video on filling in and submitting forms PRP1 and PRP2 was published on the website of the Central Election Commission of BiH.

The making of the video was done with the assistance of the OSCE Mission to BiH. This is just one segment of the significant support that the OSCE Mission to BiH has provided to the Central Election Commission of BiH in the organization of the Local Elections 2020 in Bosnia and Herzegovina, state the CEC BiH.
