TUZLA, July 7 (FENA) - The University Clinical Center Tuzla today received a donation of a new PCR device for testing for COVID-19 worth around 110,000 KM, which was donated by the European Union.

This device will contribute to more efficient testing of people for coronavirus infection, the clinical center stated.

“The European Union is the largest and most loyal partner of Bosnia and Herzegovina. As for the fight against COVID-19, since March we have invested about seven million euros for medical equipment that will be provided to all health institutions in BiH,” said the Head of Cooperation in the EU Delegation to BiH Richard Masa.

Director of the University Clinical Center, Vahid Jusufović, says that this is a very important donation.

“Twenty days ago, we received a state-of-the-art general anesthesia machine. Also, this device will not only serve for general diagnosis, but also for the diagnosis of other diseases. We are now doing 300 tests on COVID-19, and with this device our capacity will be increased to 450 a day,” said Jusufović.
