BiHPA HoR adopts the proposal for amendments to BiH Election Law

SARAJEVO, July 8 (FENA) - The House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH (BiHPA HoR) adopted last night the Bill on Amendments to the Election Law of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which will enable the holding of the local elections in Mostar.

This law was proposed by MPs: Nikola Lovrinović, Predrag Kožul, Borjana Krišto, Darijana Filipović, Mijo Matanović, Adil Osmanović, Safet Softić, Alma Čolo, Šemsudin Dedić, Halid Genjac, Nermin Mandra, Šemsudin Mehmedović, Edin Musić and Denis Zvizdić. 

In addition to this law, several conclusions were adopted, including that the House of Representatives submits the proposed bill to the House of Peoples of the BiH PA with a request for consideration under the urgent procedure.

One of the conclusions of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of BiH recommends to the Assembly of the City of Mostar, in the new convocation, to include representatives of all constituent and other peoples in BiH in the process of drafting the new statute, in order to ensure mechanisms for making and implementing decisions that are of interest to all citizens of the city of Mostar.

The House of Representatives of BiH PA also considers it necessary that the assemblies of Herzegovina-Neretva, Posavina and West Herzegovina cantons adopt amendments to the constitution to ensure the constitutionality of all peoples in the cantons by the day of holding of the local elections in BiH.

It is envisaged that the House of Peoples of the BIH PA considers the proposed bill today in an urgent procedure.

The deputies also decided to suspend the legislative procedure for the Proposal of the Law on Amendments to the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, whose proponents are MPs: Saša Magazinović, Jasmin Emrić and Šemsudin Mehmedović.

Proposal of the Law on Election of Judges of the Constitutional Court of BiH previously elected by the President of the European Court of Human Rights, proposed by MPs: Nebojša Radmanović, Snježana Novaković-Bursać, Nenad Stevandić, Nenad Nešić, Jakov Galić, Obren Petrović, Dragan Bogdanić, Sanja Vulić, Ljubica Miljanović, Borjana Krišto, Nikola Lovrinović, Mijo Matanović, Predrag Kožul and Darijana Filipović is considered rejected because the deputies accepted the negative opinion of the Constitutional-Legal Committee about it.
