SREBRENICA, July 8 (FENA) - This year's "Peace March", as part of marking of the 25th anniversary of the genocide in Srebrenica, is being held in accordance with the measures in force due to the current epidemiological situation.
The Peace March 2020 convoy started off this morning from Crni vrh, and the survivors of the 1995 war are primarily attending this year’s Peace March.
“Due to the epidemiological situation, the convoy set off for the first time this morning from Crni vrh towards Liplje, and tonight the participants will be in the village Glodi. The survivors of the 1995 war led the 'Peace March 2020' convoy. Due to the epidemiological situation and the increased number of infected people, the convoy did not leave from Nezuk. We managed to reach everything, the participants are responsible and will adhere to the measures. I don't think we will have any serious and bigger problems,” president of the Subcommittee of the March Munir Habibović told FENA.
The participants of the Peace March will arrive at the Srebrenica-Potočari Memorial Center in the afternoon of July 10.
Cyclists and marathoners from Bihać and the whole of Bosnia and Herzegovina set off for Srebrenica this morning, in a symbolic way to once again pay tribute to the victims of the 1995 genocide.
Participants of the ninth Peace March "Sarajevo - Nezuk", who set out from Sarajevo on July 3, organized by the citizens’ association "Witnesses of Their Time", joined the convoy "Peace March 2020" at the Crni vrh site this morning.
