POTOČARI, July 11 (FENA) - Srebrenica is still an open wound on the European conscience. My heart goes out to you, President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen said today in her address on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the genocide in Srebrenica.
She reminded that some mothers never found peace for their children and that some families never returned to their homes.
“It is difficult to understand the scale of this huge tragedy, today we mourn and remember mistakes and seek justice while working on reconciliation,” she stressed and said that today the whole world understands that it has not fulfilled its obligation and protected those who needed protection the most.
