SARAJEVO, July 11 (FENA) – Remains of nine more victims have laid to final rest after a quarter of a century since the genocide in Srebrenica in July 1995.

Bodies, some complete and some incomplete, were buried today, 25 years after the executions, in the cemetery of the memorial complex in Potočari.

Members of the families of those killed, participants in the Peace March, officials from Bosnia and Herzegovina, members of the international community, religious institutions, the diplomatic corps and citizens from BiH and the region attended the commemoration on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the genocide in Srebrenica.

The surviving victims said they would never stop searching for the truth and justice because many perpetrators have not been prosecuted nor all the victims of Srebrenica have been found so they can be buried at the Potočari Memorial Center.

Of those buried today, the youngest was Salko (Ahmo) Ibišević from Ljubovija, who was 23 at the time of his death. His remains were found in 2001 in the secondary mass grave of Liplje in the Zvornik municipality. The oldest victim is Hasan (Alija) Pezić from Pustoše near Vlasenica. He was 70 when he was killed, and the remains were exhumed from a mass grave in Kozluk.

It is estimated that more than 8,000 people, mostly adults and underage men, were killed in the July 1995, and tens of thousands were expelled and exposed to various horrific sufferings.

July 11 became the paradigm of the most serious crime committed on European soil after the Second World War.
