'Women in Black' in Potočari pay tribute to the victims of genocide

FENA Press release

POTOČARI July 12 (FENA) - This year as well, the association "Women in Black" from Serbia came to Potočari to pay tribute to the innocent victims of genocide, as well as to support the survivors.

The "Woman in Black" activist Staša Zajović says that they care about being present on the day of the commemoration in pain and sympathy with the survivors and families of those killed in the genocide, and especially to express their condolences to the families who are burying their loved ones on July 11.

"We think that it is very important that we are here today, and not only for the victims of the genocide in Srebrenica, as an act of respect and piety for the victims, but also for ourselves. It is a moral act for us. I must say that I am not only expressing the opinions of ‘Women in Black’ but the opinion of a number of civil society organizations. Numerous citizens of Serbia do not agree with what the regime has been doing by denying the genocide in Srebrenica and rejecting the decisions of the International Court of Justice and the court established facts," said Zajović.
