SARAJEVO, July 23 (FENA) - A mass grave containing the remains of at least three victims was discovered on Thursday in Rostovo area near the town of Bugojno in central Bosnia, the Missing Persons Institute said in a statement.
“So far, the bodies of at least three victims have been spotted in this mass grave. Based on the personal documents found next to the remains, there are clear indications that the victims are of Croat nationality that went missing in 1993 in the Bugojno area.
The exact number of victims buried in this grave will be known after the exhumation is completed,” the Missing Persons Institute said.
The remains were discovered last week during construction works on a private property.
The exhumation in the field is managed by the State Prosecutor's Office and the team includes a forensic pathologist, representatives of the Institute for Missing Persons of Bosnia and Herzegovina and representatives of the International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP) for Bosnia, as well as workers and mechanization. The site is secured by police officers, stated the Missing Persons Institute of BiH.
