Izetbegović-Urumova: Discrimination and segregation in schools must be stopped

SARAJEVO, July 24 (FENA) - President of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) Bakir Izetbegović received in an inaugural visit the Head of the Council of Europe Office in BiH, Bojana Urumova.

The topic of conversation was the current situation in BiH and the region, with special reference to the protection of human rights and the rule of law, the SDA said.

Urumova informed Izetbegović about the projects that the Council of Europe has implemented in BiH in the past, as well as about the current projects.

Izetbegović emphasized the importance of the role of the Council of Europe in the integration process of BiH into the European Union.

He noted the importance of enforcing the judgments of the European Court of Human Rights, as well as eliminating discrimination and segregation in schools.

President of the SDA wished Urumova a successful mandate and expressed confidence that the cooperation of the Office of the Council of Europe with the institutions in BiH would continue to be successful.
