SARAJEVO, August 4 (FENA) - In the past 24 hours in the Federation of BiH, 974 samples were tested, of which 301 were positive for SARS-CoV-2, while in the same period, 181 people recovered.

As of today, 3,782 patients have recovered in the Federation of BiH, while there are 3,557 currently active cases positive for SARS-CoV-2, stated the Institute of Public Health of the Federation of BiH.

There have been a total of 178 (10 more compared to yesterday's report of the Institute) confirmed deaths in the Federation of BiH.

The coronavirus infection was confirmed in 76 people in the last 24 hours in the Republika Srpska, after 506 samples were tested, while one death was reported.

“The epidemiological situation is still unfavorable and the trend of decreasing the number of infected must continue,” pointed out the acting director of the RS Institute of Public Health Branislav Zeljković at a press conference, warning that a large number of infected people are younger and middle-aged.

Private gatherings represent the greatest danger for the spread of the virus, and Zeljković reiterates that it is necessary for citizens to adhere to the prescribed measures, physical distance, wearing masks, personal hygiene and regular disinfecting.

Currently, 75 patients are hospitalized at the University Clinical Center in Banja Luka, 205 in other hospitals, the largest number in Doboj, 45 of them.

Since the beginning of the pandemic in the RS, the coronavirus infection has been confirmed in 5,136 people, and 183 deaths have been recorded.

Twenty-two new cases of coronavirus infection have been registered in the Brčko District.
