The stećak necropolis in Polog near Mostar declared a national monument of BiH

SARAJEVO, August 4 (FENA) - The Commission for the preservation of National Monuments of Bosnia and Herzegovina today adopted a Decision to designate the Necropolis with ‘stećak’ tombstones in Polog near Mostar as a National Monument of BiH.

The Commission Chairman Radoje Vidović and members Goran Milojević and Amir Pašić also adopted amendments to earlier decisions for seven national monuments.

These are the BiH Presidency building (the Provincial Government Building I) in Sarajevo, the BiH Railways building (the Provincial Government Building II) in Sarajevo, the Sarajevo Canton Building and the Centar Municipality (Provincial Government Building III) in Sarajevo, the Gazi Husrev-bey Madrasah and the Khanikah in Sarajevo, Sabur's house in Sarajevo, the complex Vraca Memorial Park in Sarajevo and Bakarević Mosque in Sarajevo.

Amendments to these decisions relate to the categorization and redefining of protection measures in accordance with the current state of these national treasures, the Commission said.
