SARAJEVO, August 5 (FENA) - Sarajevo Film Festival will be held despite the coronavirus pandemic, and as previously announced by the organizers, this most important film festival in the region will last from August 14th to 21st in a modified format and in line with current epidemiological measures.
Thus, this year's SFF will be held with lower capacity of cinemas, while part of the program will be available online.
The largest movie screen in the region has already been placed at the Raiffeisen Open Air Cinema, and films from the Open Air program will be available to watch from various sectors on the site with a maximum capacity of up to 100 people.
To avoid the usual crowds, the organizers recommended visitors to buy tickets online.
In accordance with the epidemiological situation, this year's festival locations are mainly open air summer cinemas: Raiffeisen Open Air Cinema, dm Summer Screen, Safet Zajko Open Air Cinema, and the new Stari grad Open Air Cinema.
Indoor screenings are planned at the Bosnian Cultural Center, Meeting Point Cinema, MMC Ilidža, Novo Sarajevo Children's Home. Centar Skenderija is an alternative in case of rain for screenings from the Raiffeisen Open Air Cinema and the Stari Grad Open Air Cinema.
This year, the Sarajevo Film Festival will show part of its film program in Mostar.
SFF organizers pointed out in the instructions that when entering and leaving the festival location, each visitor will be required to wear a protective mask, and the Festival Directorate recommends wearing a protective mask for the duration of the film, regardless of distance between each chair respecting measures and with physical distance.
When entering the location, foot disinfection and hand disinfection are mandatory. Before each screening, the surrounding surfaces and chairs will be disinfected, as well as all surfaces with which the audience is in contact.
This year, for the first time in 17 years, there will be no screening at the National Theater, nor will there be an official protocol on the red carpet.
