Tegeltija proposes projects to the EC under Economic and Investment Plan for WB

BANJA LUKA, August 6 (FENA) - The list of priority infrastructure projects, presented to the European Commission by the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina Zoran Tegeltija, includes ten projects.

The list is being drafted for rounding up the Economic and Investment Plan for the Western Balkans.

Chairman Tegeltija’s office confirmed for FENA that the following priority projects for BiH have been proposed: the Brčko-Tuzla-Živinice expressway, the Lašva-Travnik-Jajce expressway and the Mostar-Široki Brijeg-Croatia expressway.

The list of priority projects includes the Vareš-Banovići railway, the rehabilitation and electrification of the Doboj-Tuzla-Zvornik railway, the Travnik-Zagvozd gas pipeline, as well as the Buk Bijela hydropower plant project.

Also, the project of construction of the motorway section on Corridor Vc through the RS (Vukosavlje-Doboj), overhauling of the section Šamac-Doboj-Rječica on the railway Corridor Vc and construction of the road section Brod na Drini (Foča) -Hum (Šćepan polje, Montenegro) with an interstate bridge have been proposed.

The emphasis in the unified list of priority infrastructure projects is placed on projects in the field of transport and energy.

In a declaration from the Zagreb Summit on May 6, 2020, the European Commission announced the development of an Economic and Investment Plan for the Western Balkans with the aim of providing long-term support for economic recovery, stimulating economic growth, improving competitiveness and bringing the region closer to the European Union.
