SARAJEVO, August 13 (FENA) - The Podveležje wind farm in the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton is a project of mutual interest and benefit to the local community and the public enterprise 'Elektroprivreda BiH'.
Even in the phase of preparations for the construction, the local community has achieved direct financial effects. For projects to improve environmental protection and living standards of the population, Elektroprivreda BiH paid one million KM to the City of Mostar, and a one-time concession fee in the amount of one million and 10 thousand KM was also paid.
The joint action of Elektroprivreda BiH and the City of Mostar, defined by the Program on mutual cooperation with the goal of putting into operation the Podveležje Wind Farm, reconstructed the sections of the local road Podvelež - Šipovac - Okolište in the length of 2.5 kilometers.
Elektroprivreda BiH has invested one million KM in this project, and in addition to the needs of the local population, the needs of transporting the required and specific equipment from the Port of Ploče to the construction site on the Podvelež plateau have been met.
By putting the Wind Farm into operation, the local community will have annual revenues based on the concession fees in the amount of 2.5 percent of the realized production during the year, based on profit tax, other taxes, fees and contributions.
In this way, the financial basis for the development of the local community and the Federation of BiH will be significantly improved. There will also be positive reflections on the development of infrastructure and tourism, stated the Communications Department of Elektroprivreda BiH.
