SARAJEVO, August 14 (FENA) - A meeting on the establishment of the "COVID Hospital" within the General Hospital "Prim. Dr. Abdulah Nakaš" was held today in the seat of the Government of the Sarajevo Canton.
In addition to members of the Government, the meeting was attended by representatives of the Institute for Construction of SC and UNDP, as well as Dr. Davorka Matković, anesthesiologist and Dr. Ednan Drljević, specialist in infectious diseases from the General Hospital.
The meeting was constructive and steps were agreed with UNDP to reconstruct the garrison ambulance and hospital. Two proposals were offered, as well as the next steps for the preparation of project documentation in order to make the facility ready as soon as possible.
Director of the General Hospital "Prim. Dr. Abdulah Nakaš", Ismet Gavrankapetanović, stated that primary steps have been agreed for the facility to be transferred into the ownership of the General Hospital, which he believes should have been done a long time ago.
“Also, it was agreed to prepare project documentation, reconstruction of the space that is being introduced into the hospital capacity, as well as the procurement of equipment. It is important to see the seriousness of the moment and offer the citizens of Sarajevo a permanent and extraordinary solution as soon as possible,” said Gavrankapetanović.
He emphasized that the Government of SC promised the possibility of hiring additional medical staff, which would finally give a serious solution to the Sarajevo Canton.
