ZENICA, December 27 (FENA) - The Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Bosnia and Herzegovina donated 50,000 KM worth of medical equipment to the Zenica Cantonal Hospital (KBZ), which includes an ultrasound machine and 5,000 protective masks and 1,000 protective suits to combat the Covid-19.
The ultrasound device will be installed at the Department of Internal Medicine with hemodialysis. Head of this Department Dr. Belma Pojskić, pointed out at today's press conference that this device arrived at the right time.
“Zenica is symbol of diligence, hospitality and patriotism, and that is in line with the spirit of my Chinese people. It is as good for me here as at home,” said the representative of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China, Miao Diake, who handed over this donation from his country.
The government, non-governmental organizations and Chinese citizens living in BiH, Diake noted, have donated 50,000 doses of vaccines, as well as other types of medical equipment for BiH, since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic.
“China will continue, together with BiH, to improve health cooperation at the global level, in order to end the fight as soon as possible and win the Covid pandemic. Friends, the great distance between China and BiH cannot prevent the friendship between our two peoples,” said Diake.
Prime Minister of the Zenica Doboj Canton Mirnes Bašić expressed the gratitude for the valuable donation and noted that the equipment arrived thanks to the engagement of the doctor of the Zenica hospital Malik Ejubović. PM Bašić said that the Cantonal Hospital was also a priority for the ZDC Government, which, through the Ministry of Health and the Crisis Staff directed all its resources to strengthen the capacity of that institution.
