MOSTAR, January 4 (FENA) - Vice President of the European Parliament Delegation for Relations with BiH and Kosovo, Željana Zovko said in Mostar on Tuesday, commenting on the current political situation in our country, that calls for conflicts and tensions in BiH require a calming and constructive response, while the electoral reform needs greater involvement of European Union representatives.

Commenting on the canceled visit of the mediators in the negotiations on changes to the BiH election law - Matthew Palmer and Angelina Eichhorst, to continue participating in mediation on this issue and the message of the EU and US embassies in BiH that the results will be visible when the parties work together to find a solution, Zovko said that no particular progress can be made at that level.

"It is my opinion that no special progress can be achieved at that level, as much as we have experienced diplomats because this level of crisis in BiH requires the engagement of EU envoys," says Zovko.

As Vice-Chair of the European Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee, she called for involvement in these negotiations at the highest EU level.

"All that has been requested from the beginning, which Croatia has requested through its representatives, is the solution for the Election Law in BiH. However, skillful policies in Sarajevo led to the narrative being directed somewhere else, which is talks about a possible conflict, and the focus is no longer on the election law reform," said Zovko.

If we do not find a solution to the election law, then, she believes, "the country will be left in a situation of arrested peace".
