TREBINJE, January 23 (FENA) - Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia and Herzegovina Staša Košarac paid a working visit to Trebinje yesterday with the Director of Doa Consulting Mahmut Guven, where he met with Mayor Mirko Ćurić and Director of the local Agrarian Fund Veselin Dutina.
The officials discussed the possibilities of improving the economic environment in Trebinje and the Herzegovina region, connecting local and Turkish entrepreneurs, as well as investments in the agricultural, energy and tourism sectors.
Košarac pointed out that Turkey is an important foreign trade partner of BiH, and stressed that good relations between Serb BiH Presidency member Milorad Dodik and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan are an additional motive for continuing and strengthening overall economic cooperation.
He expressed his belief that, based on consultations and agreements between the City Administration of Trebinje and interested investors from Turkey, certain projects will be realized for mutual benefit.
“Trebinje, Herzegovina and Republika Srpska are recognized as a stable space for foreign investment. Serious investors from the countries of the region, the European Union and other countries are welcome here, and they can count on the necessary institutional support,” said Košarac.
The special focus of the talks was on the improvement of tourist capacities in Trebinje, and the readiness to connect with the region of Cappadocia, which is one of the leading tourist destinations in Turkey thanks to recognizable balloon rides.
