MADRID, February 9 (FENA) - Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Zeljko Komsic met today with King Philip VI of Spain.
They discussed friendly relations between the two countries and the intensification of co-operation in the field of culture with the opening of the Miguel de Cervantes Institute in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Komšić expressed gratitude for Spain's help during the war in BiH, expressing condolences over the death of General Luis Carvajal, who commanded Spanish troops in Bosnia and Herzegovina, according to a statement from the Cabinet of Chairman Komšić.
King Philip expressed satisfaction with the fact that the Spanish Government has committed itself to more active engagement and assistance to Bosnia and Herzegovina in the field of economic cooperation, emphasizing support for preserving the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Shortly after the meeting of the two statesmen, it was announced that King Philip VI was infected with Covid-19.
Komšić also met today with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, who took the opportunity to announce an official visit to BiH.
