Former RBiH Army officer Osman Osmanović sentenced to five years in prison by a Belgrade court

BELGRADE, March 18 (FENA) - The Trial Chamber of the High Court in Belgrade today sentenced Osman Osmanović to five years in prison for war crimes. Osmanović was charged with war crimes in the Brčko area.

He was arrested on November 23, 2019, in Belgrade on the basis of a criminal complaint filed by the Republika Srpska Ministry of the Interior with the Serbian War Crimes Prosecutor's Office.

No arrest warrant was issued at the time of the arrest, nor was an indictment or investigation launched in Serbia.

As a former member of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, he was charged with abusing civilians and prisoners of war in 1992 in the Rasadnik camp in Gornji Rahić in the Brčko area.
