SARAJEVO, April 1 (FENA) - Chief Prosecutors and Deputy Chief Prosecutors of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Prosecutor's Offices of the Federation of BiH, Republika Srpska, Brčko District of BiH and Sarajevo Canton discussed coordination of joint activities of prosecutorial organizations in combating serious organized crime.
The participants in the meeting are aware that only by acting together can they offer an adequate response to organized crime, which has reached worrying proportions in BiH, and have agreed on concrete measures and activities that will improve the fight against these forms of crime.
In the past few months, a number of operations and activities have been carried out on behalf of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH and entity prosecutors' offices, which represent significant progress in the fight against organized crime, and the implementation of agreed measures and activities is expected.
Recent tragic events and the murder of Prijedor police chief Radenko Bašić have shown that only coordination and joint work of prosecutor's offices and police agencies can solve such serious crimes, it was said at the meeting.
The Chief Prosecutors have expressed their unreserved commitment that the prosecutorial system in BiH will put an end to organized criminal groups in all parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina through joint efforts and coordinated use of resources, the Prosecutor's Office of BiH said.
