SARAJEVO, April 8 (FENA) - Three-volume book "Don't shoot!" of the author Jovan Divjak was posthumously presented at the Sarajevo City Hall on the first anniversary of Divjak's death.

Numerous admirers of the author and his work attended this event.

Although there were different profiles attending the event, as one of the promoters said, the large attendance testifies that many people sincerely loved Divjak because of his high moral personality.

A favorite commander within the structures of the Army of RBiH during the past war, Divjak was the topic of promotion in the context of the best human virtues.

The founder of the association "Education builds Bosnia and Herzegovina", a humanist, a righteous man, a national man, a hero, are the words with which the promoters described the author.

"He is a hero in the eyes of all of us who knew him," said Florence Hartmann, one of the promoters, a former spokeswoman for The Hague tribunal, a journalist and writer, and the winner of the Sarajevo April 6th Award.

Executive director of the association founded by Divjak, Edin Bećirović, said that Divjak's idea will be preserved by the continuation of the mission of that association.

The book "Don't Shoot!" consists of three volumes, the first two of which are Divjak's war diaries from 1992 and 1993.

Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željko Komšić attended at the invitation of the Association "Education Builds Bosnia and Herzegovina - Jovan Divjak".

“It has been a year since General Divjak is no longer with us, but his deeds are still alive. The values he advocated, namely homeland, truth, justice, honesty and humanity, remain our guide in the struggle ahead. Even in the most difficult times, he showed us that the most important is to be a man and what the fight for human dignity means. The general deserved more than this city, of all of us, as a society we are obliged to repay him,” said the member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željko Komšić.
