DONJA GRADINA, April 22 (FENA) - Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željko Komšić, on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of the breakthrough of detainees from the Ustasha concentration camp Jasenovac, laid wreaths today at the Donja Gradina Memorial site and paid tribute to innocent victims.
On that occasion, he said that even after so many years of horrific events, innocent victims must not be forgotten, because remembering the victims of the genocide and the Holocaust in World War II preserves the memory of them and teaches today's generations what are the consequences of the evil human mind and ideologies that begin with hatred, segregation, and intolerance.
“Although we thought that everything that happened in this place here, but also in other places in the world, will be a warning, today we are watching new sufferings of innocent people. Fascism never sleeps, today it is trying to overpower civilization again, and we have a duty to prevent that. Anti-fascism is one of the fundamental values around which we must all gather,” said Komšić, announced the Presidency of BiH.
