SARAJEVO, April 25 (FENA) - Mayor of Sarajevo, Benjamina Karić, hosted today Mayor of Istanbul, Ekrem İmamoğlu, at the Sarajevo City Hall.
Sarajevo and Istanbul will mark 25 years of fraternal relations this year.
“The ties of our cities are historical and unbreakable. We need to nurture the tradition and cooperate on concrete projects that will further strengthen these ties,” said Karić.
Mayor İmamoğlu pointed out that he is very pleased to visit Sarajevo. He added that he believes that the joint will, exchange of experiences and good practices will strengthen the cooperation between the two cities.
They agreed that frequent meetings aimed at implementing joint projects, primarily in the field of infrastructure and protection of cultural and historical heritage, are the best way to improve relations between Sarajevo and Istanbul.
Sarajevo is hosting the first meeting of the B40 Balkan Cities Network chaired by Istanbul Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu.
The twinning relations have been strengthened by connecting Istanbul and Sarajevo within the Network, all with the aim of acting together for the benefit of the citizens, the City Administration said.
