SARAJEVO, April 26 (FENA) - The SDA President Bakir Izetbegović said in Sarajevo today that the party had decided not to attend today's urgent session of the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliament in order to stop, as he stated, the adoption of a ridiculous Bill on the Election Law.
He added that yesterday he asked the Speaker of the House, Dragan Čović, to cancel today's session because it was an attempt to adopt a law that was unconstitutional and about which no agreement was reached for a year.
Izetbegović said that the law did not even pass the inter-ministerial group, would not secure the implementation of the judgments of the European Court of Human Rights and that it did not contain the changes necessary to ensure transparent and fair elections.
"If such a law were adopted, as possible by the votes of the HDZ and the SNSD, it would complicate the adoption of amendments to the Election Law that are on the agenda of tomorrow's session of the House of Representatives, and drafted by an interdepartmental working group," said Izetbegović.
