SARAJEVO, May 8 (FENA) - The Red Cross of the Sarajevo Canton today marked the World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day and the beginning of Red Cross Week with the presentation of program activities and laying flowers at the "Memorial to the Murdered Children of Besieged Sarajevo 1992-1995".
The delegation of the Red Cross of the Sarajevo Canton, as well as employees and young volunteers laid flowers at the memorial.
SC Red Cross Secretary Enaida Višo said that they also held an education today on first aid, basic steps of cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and that volunteers on puppets simulated CPR and the use of AEDs.
World Red Cross Day is celebrated worldwide on May 8, and Red Cross Week from May 8 to 15 with the aim of showing the public their humanitarian work.
