SARAJEVO, May 8 (FENA) - On the occasion of Europe Day, a "Garden of Youth" was organized tonight at the History Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina with many activities to point out the fact that young people in BiH have something to offer, show and that they want to see BiH in the European Union.

The History Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina has been transformed into the Garden of Youth, a unique all-day program celebrating creativity, art, youth and the future.

As part of the celebration of Europe Day in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the European Union Office in BiH organized numerous activities across the country to mark the European celebration of peace and unity with a special focus on young people as part of the European Year of Youth.

Head of the European Union Delegation and the EU Special Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Johann Sattler, said that the celebration of Europe Day began a few days ago with an event in Travnik, continued in Trebinje and tonight in Sarajevo.

He pointed out that these activities celebrate a wonderful idea from 72 years ago when Robert Schumann spoke of achieving a state in which war is unthinkable.

“Now we have reached a state where the war is unthinkable, but for the 27 members of the European Union, but not for the country that is in our hearts - Ukraine, which is going through different circumstances. Today we celebrate peace, but at the same time in our hearts and prayers we are with our brothers and sisters from Ukraine who are fighting and defending not only their homeland but also our values,” Sattler emphasized.

The motto of this year's Europe Day is "Youth and Creativity", so the week is mostly dedicated to young people, their creativity and their spirit.

“They have something to show and they are the ones who truly want this country to become a member of the European Union. If you ask any of them in Bijeljina, Banja Luka, Sarajevo or elsewhere, they will certainly want to see it in the EU, and now it is necessary for politicians to do their part of the work and answers to these aspirations of young people,” concluded the Head of the EU Delegation to BiH.
