SARAJEVO, June 6 (FENA) - Minister of Finance and Treasury of Bosnia and Herzegovina Vjekoslav Bevanda expressed satisfaction that the BiH Council of Ministers unanimously adopted two priority agenda items today, namely the Draft Budget for 2022 and the financing of the general elections to be held in October this year.

He said at the press conference today that it was of the greatest importance to him after 18 months of interim financing. He expressed hope that other bodies participating in the adoption of the budget will adopt the budget by the end of this month, and that, as he said, they will finally get out of this phase.

According to him, there were certain remarks that were answered with arguments. Where it was the basis, certain corrections were made, but it is known that the amount of the budget was set by the global fiscal framework.

"The budget will be sent to the Presidency of BiH, as the authorized proposer of the budget for the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, and I hope that it will be adopted quickly," he pointed out.

He also expressed satisfaction that the budget base has been increased for employees' salaries, which is in fact the return of the base for the salary of employees in the state institutions to the 2012 level.

The attention of the public was also on the financing of the October elections, so the Ministry of Finance proposed a decision that, as Minister Bevanda said, is the right one, lawful and enforceable in everything.

"Today, at the Council of Ministers of BiH, we unanimously adopted the Decision on approving the temporary use of part of the funds from the licenses for the use of radio frequency spectrum for the provision of services via mobile access systems. These funds are intended for the Central Election Commission of BiH to finance the general elections in 2022," he stressed.

He explained that it is quite normal that these funds go "purely to finance the elections", while salaries, allowances, material costs and everything else goes into the second category, and are not included in the standard budget of the CEC.
