BANJA LUKA, June 6 (FENA) - Consideration of information on the international, political and security situation - the place and role of Republika Srpska, was the only item on the agenda of a special session of the RS National Assembly (NARS), which began today in Banja Luka with an address by the BiH Presidency member, Milorad Dodik.

Dodik called on RSNA MPs to be actively involved in reflecting on the current position of the RS in the context of global events and relations between Russia and the West and the role of Bosnia and Herzegovina, reminding that the "RSNA, as the highest authority,  should speak about the most important political topics and make decisions on all  all the ongoing issues."

In that context, he stated that, above all, "Bosniak political representatives are trying to impose a new form of decision-making and foreign policy implementation", stating that his proposal in the BiH Presidency to discuss the global situation was not put on the agenda.

He reminded, at the same time, of the history of the formation of the RS and the competencies of that entity, linking it to high-level interventions and "violence by the international community" and the presence of foreign judges in the BiH Constitutional Court, which he claims were to the detriment of the RS.

He also stated that the transfer of the competencies remained in the shadow of the war in Ukraine.

"It is obvious that BiH is incapable of affirming the rights of the RS. We could not reach a consensus on this question. We reached conclusions on December 10 to deal with these issues. However, on February 24, there was a special intervention of the Russian Federation (RF) and that led all of us to deal with these issues. The RS is not a significant geopolitical factor, but we must not lose our role of neutrality," Dodik warned, stating that the RSNA session was an opportunity to deal with global political processes in order to understand them better.

He also referred to the sixth package of sanctions that the European Union imposed on Russia.

"The conflict has polarized the world and the West's intention was to impose mass sanctions on Russia. The sixth package of sanctions was introduced by trying to ensure the consent of all and try to show unity. This led to the collapse of foreign policy in BiH, so we have some who think that sanctions have been imposed and others who do not believe that is the case," said Dodik.

In this regard, he announced the initiation of criminal proceedings against all ambassadors of Bosnia and Herzegovina who "acted unilaterally and voted for the imposition of sanctions on Russia."

He said pressure in recent days has culminated in a demand for support for Western sanctions, and that there was a conflict between liberalism and what is seen as sovereignty.

"The West believes that it has the right to spread values and its influence indefinitely, to any country in the world, and they did not want to hear frequent warnings from the Russian Federation that they have reservations about their expansion, especially of its military arsenal. Back in 2008, President Putin himself pointed this out," said Dodik.

He also referred to the policy of Great Britain in Europe and BiH, stating that "Britain is trying to return to its imperial position."

"!British policy is harmful to European policy and it will eventually lead to the collapse of the European Union. In this regard, as far as we are concerned, it is obvious that the EU does not have a consolidated policy and that it is difficult to understand the way they conduct their policies," he said, adding that Great Britain was politically negative towards the RS in a negative way and that the RS suffers because of it.

He added that the RS does not want to tolerate "arrangements of Great Britain", which is supported by the State Department.

In addition, he believes that we should think about what the RS gets if it unreservedly joins the West, wondering how it is possible for BiH to "impose sanctions on the Russian Federation, a country that is one of the guarantors of the Dayton Agreement."

Dodik stated that Russia has always been on the side of international law, and "against the British attempt to declare the Serb people genocidal".

Finally, he referred to the role of the United States in creating the Dayton Agreement, noting that the question is whether there would be the RS at all if it were not for that agreement.

Dodik pointed to the imperative of coordinating policies with regional partners, adding that Serbia remains the most important partner for the RS.

He said that RS could not accept being part of the sanctions against the Russian Federation, insisting on a neutral position, and calling on the RSNA deputies to think about everything in detail, and once again stressed that "the RS has the right to pursue its own foreign policy."
