CoM requests assistance from Croatia in fighting forest fires in BiH

SARAJEVO, July 18 (FENA) - The Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, on the proposal of the Ministry of Security, unanimously passed the Decision on requesting international assistance for protection and rescue in firefighting in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In accordance with this decision, international assistance was requested from the competent authorities of the Republic of Croatia in the form of sending an aircraft (Canadair) with a crew that will receive assistance from the civil protection authorities in BiH, the Council of Ministers of BiH announced.

The Council made this urgent decision of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina in order to help the population in the area of the municipalities of Čitluk, Čapljina and Konjic, where extinguishing large forest fires has been difficult due to inaccessible terrain.
